Delivered in-stock units usually land within a few days depending on routing. Custom drawings start after a 30% deposit and average about three months through forge, finish, and freight — exact dates move with queue, glass packages, and carriers, and we put hard dates on the quote whenever possible.

TruDoors iron doors ship with insulated glass packages as standard — you are not upgrading from uninsulated to insulated on typical jobs. Switchable smart glass and stepped-up premium thermal / low-e stacks (for example tighter U-factor specs, triple glazing, argon fill) require designing the slab and cavity on a custom order and cannot be field-retrofitted onto a yard pickup slab. Stay in-stock for speed, or commit to custom when you need those stacks.

Plan on roughly three months end-to-end once drawings are approved and the 30% deposit clears — forge queue, finishing, glass build, and freight all play a part. Your written quote calls out production targets and shipping windows so nothing is vague.

Final numbers always include hardware, finish, freight, and install scope in writing.

Custom orders run on a 30% deposit after you approve the drawings. The balance is due before the finished door leaves our control per the payment schedule on your quote.

Broken glass from impact, jobsite mishandling, vandalism, or after you take possession is not covered — plan for appropriate builder's risk or homeowner insurance. No. TruDoors installers focus on hanging and commissioning the door — they do not patch drywall or repair stucco around the opening. On most installs, moldings you order through TruDoors cover the jamb-to-drywall joint so drywall does not remain exposed. Major jobs that require demo may disturb surrounding drywall or stucco; restoring those finishes is your responsibility or your GC's — not TruDoors. Call that scope out when you request a quote.
